Update 20th
June 2006
The Bee Gees
wrote a song in 1976 called "You stepped into my life", well
reverse the "76" to "67" and they did just that. I was listening
to the radio in my room as I was getting ready to go out when I
heard a song playing that made me sit back and listen. I missed
the very beginning but caught the words "It's just a Photograph
of someone that I knew", Wow, what a voice !! The song continued
" have you seen my wife Mr Jones, do you know what it's like on
the outside" As usual, whenever you wanted to catch the song
title or the artists name it never mentioned again and true to
form, it wasn't. I really liked that song so I decided when I
got paid from work, I would go down town and buy it, I had a
rough idea what the song was called but not the singers.

Update 24th
June 2006
So come the
weekend, I went down town to our local record store, in this
case "Bruce Moores" (Which is no longer there) and asked the
assistant if they had a song called "Have you seen my wife Mr
Jones" The assistant looked rather quizzical at me and shook her
head, "Sorry, we don't have any thing called that", Oh well, It
looked as if I was going to have to try to catch the song on the
radio again, I hadn't heard it again since the first time so
there was little hope, but as I was leaving, the girl shouted
across to one of the booths were another girl was setting up
records for people to listen to, "Have you heard of a song
called Have you seen my wife Mr Jones", "Yes" she called back
over "except it isn't called that, It's called "New York Mining
disaster 1941", she went on to say it was a new group called the
Bee Gees and it was one of those rare records which doesn't
include the title in the lyrics. I would never have guessed that
title in "One Million Years" another classic song title but
that's a different story.

Update
23nd July 2006
So having paid for my
record, I took it home so I could hear the song in its entirety.
I didn't have Hi Fi in those days, I just had a mono Record
player that had a volume control and a tone control.
If you turned it up full volume you could just about hear it
over the other side of the room but I didn't care, it's all I
had and I was lucky enough to have one of my own. I listened to
the A Side for a few times then turned it over and played the B
side "I can't see nobody", WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update
13th January 2007
I thought the A side
was good but the B side just blew me away, I had no idea who was
singing the lead vocal but his voice was so different to the
normal singer of the day.
